This is the first Christmas not in Michigan. Although I'm really bummed to be far away from my family and friends, I'm trying to make the most of it. Step one to making it feel like Christmas? A tree! I don't have space for a tree, plus I'm not even home most of the time to appreciate it.
So, instead of a traditional pine tree I opted for a rosemary bush! It's less expensive than a tree. It smells fantastic. It's functional (rosemary shortbread anyone? maybe some rosemary foccacia?). Plus, it can be reused next Christmas (let's hope it survives 2012...). And to make it even more adorable it's decorated with hand-strung cranberry and popcorn garland and a foil star. Adorable.
Add a few seasonal beers into the mix and things are looking pretty good for a Denver Christmas.
